Washington Street forms a type of barrier between our brother and sister living out on the streets and many government offices as well as the two schools I teach at, Weber Institute and Stockton High Schools. Washington St. as I said forms a barrier built with trash and other refuse that keeps us apart from each other. All of this trash is what I and my students see every day to and from school. I believe that cleaning up Washington St. will go a long ways in building unity in our Stockton community. There are already so many barriers that keep people apart and we should not build more that that separate our citizens, especially barriers made of trash and decay.
